A reduced chemical kinetic mechanism of diesel fuel for HCCI engines

نویسندگان

چکیده

A reduced mechanism of diesel fuel was developed on the basis Wang’s mechanism. First, for removing unimportant reactions, an importance index defined computational singular perturbation (CSP). Choosing 0.0065, 140 reactions were removed, and obtained a smaller 403 elementary reactions. Second, 32 global quasi-steady-state (QSS) species found with threshold value 0.005. Finally, smallest containing 77-species obtained. By contrast ignition delay time original mechanism, maximum error final 7.2 %. The also performed experiments date from selected homogeneous charge compression (HCCI) engine, good overlap curves simulation results less than 10

Detailed Chemical Kinetic Modelling of Aromatic Diesel Fuel Components

The ability to predict the inter-conversion of poly-aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) of different toxicities and emissions of fine carbon-based particles from Diesel engines are of increasing relevance given their harmful effects. The matter is complicated by the complexity of Diesel fuels and model fuel blends have to be used in numerical simulations of practical engines. The use of aromatic fuel ...

Modeling Low-Pressure Injections in Diesel HCCI Engines

Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion is being considered as an alternative to conventional engine combustion systems due to its high efficiency and low engine-out emissions. To prepare a homogeneous mixture for diesel HCCI combustion, two types of low pressure (5MPa~20MPa) injectors were considered: a swirl injector and a multi-hole injector. A modified version of the KIVA-...

Application of Exhaust Gas Fuel Reforming in Diesel and Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) Engines Fuelled with Biofuels

This paper documents the application of exhaust gas fuel reforming of two alternative fuels, biodiesel and bioethanol, in internal combustion engines. The exhaust gas fuel reforming process is a method of on-board production of hydrogen-rich gas by catalytic reaction of fuel and engine exhaust gas. The benefits of exhaust gas fuel reforming have been demonstrated by adding simulated reformed ga...

Biodiesel as an Alternative Fuel for Diesel Engines

There is growing interest in biodiesel (fatty acid methyl ester or FAME) because of the similarity in its properties when compared to those of diesel fuels. Diesel engines operated on biodiesel have lower emissions of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons, particulate matter, and air toxics than when operated on petroleum-based diesel fuel. Production of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) from rap...
